Founder and President/CEO, Odyssey Mechanical, LLC
Kevin Hommes is the Founder and President/CEO of Odyssey Mechanical, LLC, a full-service mechanical company based in Wilmington, North Carolina. With over 14 years of leadership at Odyssey Mechanical, Kevin has built a rapidly growing business specializing in HVAC, plumbing, gas, and electrical services across commercial, residential, and multifamily projects.
A graduate of the University of North Carolina Wilmington with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Management, Kevin brings a strong background in business and management to his company. Odyssey Mechanical serves diverse sectors, including private, government, and public, delivering high-quality solutions for hospitals, assisted living facilities, industrial buildings, and more.
Under Kevin’s guidance, the company emphasizes exceptional customer service, quality control, and project diversity. With a talented team and a robust design/build department, Odyssey Mechanical is a trusted partner for complex and large-scale projects across North Carolina.
Andy Smith
COO, Odyssey Mechanical, LLC
Andy Smith is the Chief Operating Officer at Odyssey Mechanical, where he combines his extensive experience in the mechanical contracting industry with a passion for operational excellence. Originally from Greensboro, NC, Andy has built a reputation for driving efficiency and fostering a culture of innovation within the company.
Outside of work, Andy is a devoted family man. He and his wife enjoy spending time with their two grown children and two grandchildren, cherishing the moments they create together.
An avid fan of the Carolina Hurricanes, Andy loves the thrill of live hockey games. He also finds relaxation in fishing, often seeking the calm of the water. Whether cheering for his team or enjoying a day outdoors, Andy values the time spent with family and friends, making each moment memorable.
Alex Burch
Project Manager commercial and Multi-family HVAC
Based in Mount Olive, North Carolina, Lawrence Burch brings extensive expertise in project management and facility maintenance to his role as a Project Manager with Odyssey Mechanical, overseeing HVAC projects for commercial and multi-family properties, with a focus on new construction and tenant improvements. With over 15 years in the industry, Lawrence’s diverse background includes managing government and private sector projects at Snodgrass Contracting, King George LLC, and other firms, working with agencies such as the USACE, NAVFAC, and the GSA.
Throughout his career, Lawrence has demonstrated exceptional leadership and project management skills, handling complex projects ranging from small-scale installations to multi-million dollar operations. His technical proficiencies are complemented by certifications in EPA 608, PMP Training, and Preventative Maintenance. Lawrence’s hands-on experience and in-depth knowledge in maintenance management ensure successful project execution, from planning to completion.

My name is Christa Rabon, and I am a dedicated professional with a degree in Business Management from Colby Sawyer College in New Hampshire. Originally from Vermont, I moved to Wilmington, NC, in 2018, embracing new opportunities in the dynamic field of HVAC. Currently, I serve as the Residential Operations Manager at Odyssey Mechanical, where I collaborate closely with builders to ensure that every new home is equipped with effective heating and cooling systems. Outside of work, you can catch me traveling the United States with my husband and our spunky puppy, Harvey, as we visit family and explore new places.
David Joyce
Vice President of HVAC
David Joyce serves as the Vice President of HVAC, bringing a wealth of experience and expertise to the team. Originally from Greensboro, NC, David has a deep appreciation for the Carolinas and the values of hard work and community.
A dedicated family man, David is married and proud father to three grown children. He believes in the importance of balance in life and enjoys spending his free time fishing and cheering on the Carolina Panthers.
With a strong commitment to innovation and excellence in the HVAC industry, David is passionate about providing quality solutions that meet the needs of clients while fostering a collaborative and positive work environment.
Jimmy Prosser
HVAC Replacement Division Manager
With 27 years of experience in HVAC, I currently serve as the AOR Manager and Field Supervisor at Odyssey Mechanical. My career began on the shop floor, pulling materials and wrapping ductwork, before progressing to a rough-in mechanic role. Over the years, I transitioned into changeouts, service, and eventually management.
Outside of work, I cherish spending time with my three children—my 18-year-old daughter and my two boys, aged 10 and 6. As the head coach for the Coastal Bengals 6U Pop Warner team, I can often be found on the football field with my kids. Our family stays active with various activities, including roller skating in parades and participating in community events to give back to the surrounding area.
John Nieves
Vice President of Plumbing Operations
John Nieves, as the Vice President of Plumbing Operations at Odyssey Mechanical, has truly carved an inspiring path in the plumbing industry. His early years, spent working alongside family on residential projects, laid a solid foundation for his future. Transitioning into his apprenticeship at just 18, he quickly absorbed the skills that would shape his career.
Taking on the role of foreman by 23 demonstrated not only his technical proficiency but also his knack for leadership. His diverse experiences—ranging from field supervisor to project manager, estimator, consultant, and Licensed Plumber—give him a comprehensive understanding of the industry.
At Odyssey Mechanical, John’s passion shines through as he mentors the next generation of plumbers. He’s dedicated to fostering a supportive environment where new talent can thrive. Imagine him leading workshops, sharing stories from the field, or even initiating community outreach programs to inspire young people about careers in plumbing. Lou Resko
Plumbing Manager
I am the Plumbing/ Electrical Manager specializing in commercial applications, tenant improvements building customer relations, and much more.
I am also an estimator and project manager for specialty projects for commercial plumbing, electrical, and HVAC.
I have an extensive background in HVAC, Refrigeration, Plumbing. My weakness would be electrical, as I mostly worked with controls and schematic diagram troubleshooting and with 2 years of industrial electronics schooling.

I’m married to Sandra, and we live in Little River, SC. I have three children from my previous marriage, 2 boys Steven and Josh and a daughter Logan. My hobbies are golfing, cooking and spending time outdoors. I joined the US Army in 1985 and was a Czechoslovakian Linguist.
Mike Rhyne
HVAC Service Manager
Born and raised in Charlotte, North Carolina, I relocated to Wilmington, NC, in June 2021 to join Odyssey Mechanical as the HVAC Service Manager. With over 24 years of experience in the HVAC industry, including 21 years as a dedicated service technician, I have developed a deep technical foundation and a commitment to exceptional customer service, as well as staying at the forefront of industry advancements.
Family remains central to my life. I am a proud father to three daughters, aged 32, 27, and 13, and a grandfather to three wonderful grandchildren, aged 13, 6, and 5. Outside of work, I enjoy swimming, collecting and shooting firearms, and spending quality time with friends and family. My passion for cooking often leads me to experiment with new recipes, and I especially enjoy grilling for loved ones, merging my culinary creativity with quality time spent together.
Rob Annette
Estimator, Commercial Department
Rob Annette has been a dedicated member of our team for over six years, bringing a wealth of experience from both the field and office. Starting his career in the heating and air-conditioning industry at a young age, Rob quickly transitioned from project management to his current role in estimating, where he leverages his comprehensive knowledge to deliver accurate and competitive proposals.
Rob holds a certificate in Building and Environmental Systems Technology and an associate degree in science from Cape Fear Community College. His commitment to excellence is complemented by his disciplined background as a veteran of the United States Marine Corps.
Outside of work, Rob is a devoted father and husband who enjoys spending quality time with his family. He is passionate about the outdoors, often spending weekends hiking and camping.
Tommy Young
Multi-Family HVAC Project Manager
With nearly three decades of experience in the HVAC industry, Tommy Young has dedicated his career to heating, ventilation, and air conditioning. Since graduating in 1995, he has transformed HVAC into his lifelong passion.
In 2019, Tommy joined Odyssey Mechanical, where he realized his dream of becoming a Project Manager. Over the past several years, he has played a pivotal role in establishing and growing the Multifamily Department, working closely under the mentorship of Kevin. His commitment to excellence and leadership has been instrumental in building a successful team and delivering high-quality projects.
Outside of work, Tommy is an avid college football fan. His favorite time of year is football season, and he passionately supports the West Virginia University Mountaineers, hoping to see them win the national championship one day. He fondly remembers the 1988 Fiesta Bowl, where WVU faced Notre Dame, a game that remains vivid in his memory.
